What You Missed at the FrameworkLTC Innovation Conference
FrameworkLTC Innovation Conference Recap 2025
From September 15–17, hundreds of long-term care (LTC) pharmacy leaders gathered at the Sheraton San Diego for the 15th Annual FrameworkLTC Innovation Conference. Over three days, the event delivered invaluable opportunities for education, networking, and innovation, all centered on advancing the future of LTC pharmacy.
Continuing Education Sessions That Mattered
The conference featured a lineup of powerful CE-accredited sessions designed to equip attendees with knowledge and strategies for today’s most pressing challenges.
One of the highlights was the session led by Chad Worz, PharmD, BCGP, FASCP, Chief Executive Officer of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP). Dr. Worz emphasized the shared responsibility across the industry to ensure that no patient loses access to essential medications as new legislation and pricing models come into effect. His insights provided attendees with a timely call to action and a roadmap for safeguarding patient care.
In a powerful keynote address, trust expert David Horsager shared insights from his industry-leading research, The Trust Outlook®. Horsager revealed how the world’s top leaders and organizations build trust to boost creativity, performance, and bottom-line results. Attendees discovered why trust is the greatest competitive advantage—and most importantly, how to earn it and keep it.
Another impactful CE session was led by Chris Callahan of Echelon Risk + Cyber, who brought his extensive experience overseeing cybersecurity strategies for LTC pharmacies. Callahan outlined practical ways to strengthen an organization’s security posture—from safeguarding sensitive information and systems to improving internal accountability. His message was clear: business and leadership play a critical role in advancing cybersecurity maturity and ensuring trust, resilience, and long-term success.
The conference concluded its CE program with Mark Fulton’s Regulatory Roundup, which provided an overview of recent and upcoming regulatory changes impacting LTC pharmacy. Fulton highlighted provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) coming in 2026 that will introduce Medicare price negotiations and new reimbursement pathways. He also covered the sweeping One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), which will reshape Medicaid and social services alongside major shifts in federal spending priorities. Fulton further examined evolving federal agency policies under the second Trump administration and discussed state-level trends, including lawsuits against PBMs and the expansion of pharmacy deserts amid closures.
